The Palestinian banking sector plays a major role in the economic growth reaching development desired, laying a big burden over banks embodied in creating banking awareness. This will have an effective impact on engaging various social strata in financial matters, and in specific banking issues so that groups of young children and adults can gain knowledge to be able to deal with the latest developments witnessing digital transformations.
In the context of the banking sector tendencies, the Banks’ Association in collaboration with the Palestinian Monetary Authority and Education Ministry of the Palestinian National Authority launched a “Masrifi” application which aims at disseminating culture and banking awareness in the context of the banking week for children and youth for the year 2022, under the slogan “Learn, save and gain” targeting 114 thousand students directly from grades 8 distributed on 1625 schools, in various areas of the country comprising of all schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education, UNRWA schools and private schools.
The “Masrifi” application is an electronic application which can be downloaded on smart phones to familiarize children and youth with the services provided by the banking sector. It is designed based on an advanced technological means achieving the interaction desired with financial banking matters.
It comprises of a virtual bank branch offering major information about banking services in an interactive thrilling manner, as it aims at promoting awareness and banking culture for the emerging generation consisting of several phases, games and questions enabling the student to enter within the valuable prize draw represented in saving accounts offered to winners by the banks.
The application is revised in a regular manner to keep pace with technological and banking developments based on the comments from users of young generations and tech- savvy.
The banking application is considered one of the tools used by the Banks’ Association to disseminate banking culture and increase awareness.
